Welcome to Siesta Key

Beautiful, intimate island with world-class beaches, fantastic shopping, and delicious dining options

Framed by the sparkling Gulf of Mexico and its world-famous beaches, Siesta Key is a barrier island off the coast of Sarasota, Florida. It's known for its top-rated Siesta Key Beach (named best in the nation, twice!) and abundance of shopping, nightlife, resorts, and dining options. The beaches in Siesta Key are genuinely unmatched and unlike anywhere else in the world, even unlike any other beach in Florida. They’re one-of-a-kind, revered for their literal powder-soft white sand that is always cool to the touch and crystal-clear aquamarine waters. People come from all over the world, specifically for the beaches and breathtaking sunsets.

Siesta Key residents live in the lap of luxury as this prime spot keeps people active all year with fantastic outdoor recreation opportunities and beachside amenities. Whether you want to live somewhere where you can dip your toes into the sand any day of the week, or you want to raise your family in a place with strong schools and an energetic environment. By day, Siesta Key might be a laid-back beach town, but at night, it comes alive, transforming into a lively hub or “Siesta Fiesta.”

People & Lifestyle

It's hard to deny the charm of Siesta Key, a beautiful beachy community akin to living in a genuine paradise. Siesta Key comprises four main districts, including Siesta Beach, one of the country's top-ranked beaches, Crescent Beach, Turtle Beach, and Siesta Key Village. Because of its unique geography and location near the Gulf of Mexico, residents benefit from living close to convenient amenities provided by Sarasota while still living in an intimate community.

By day, Siesta Key feels like a laidback beach town, but at night the entire area comes alive with incredible energy as younger people enjoy the nightlife and entertainment scene. There’s a great mixture of families, both part-time and full-time. People love inviting their loved ones to visit so they can show off where they live, especially by visiting the fiesta. As for communities, there is a wide variety, like the little beachy village Siesta Key Village and the gated single-family community, Sanderling Club, ideal for anyone who wants a home on the beach. There are a lot of single homes throughout the area, but just the one gated community.

Residents flock to Siesta Key because of its relaxed lifestyle, nightlife, and great shopping. It's a close-knit town, but there is always something to do here, with festivals happening throughout the year. Creatives appreciate Siesta Key for its vibrant arts and culture scene.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

The Daiquiri Deck is a world-famous location with five locations throughout Florida, including two in Siesta Key (Siesta Key and South Siesta Key). It's the perfect place to kick back and relax, share a meal and drinks with friends. Live music, tasty dishes, and the best frozen daiquiris in town combine to create an unparalleled location ideal for catching up with your loved ones and enjoying delicious food, including seafood dishes and creative cocktails.

The Daiquiri Deck is open from 11 to midnight seven days a week, with a daily happy hour at all locations. After dark, things get even more fun with a rotating selection of live performances from local artists and games like corn hole and beer pong, plus other special events.

When it comes to shopping in Siesta Key, there is no shortage of options, but Foxy Lady Fashions is one of the most popular women's clothing boutiques on the island. Locals love the Beach Bazaar, a one-stop-shop for swimwear and other beach apparel.

Things to Do

Drum Circles are a popular Sarasota pastime as an opportunity for adults, kids, tourists, dancers, artists, and locals to gather for a night of dancing, sand, sunset, and music. They take place on Sunday evenings year-round on Siesta and Englewood beaches.
.
The Siesta Fiesta is one of the longest-running events held in Florida and a unique event taking place in Siesta Key Village. Artists and crafters get the chance to showcase their work, whether it's paintings, photography, sculptures, ceramics, or something else entirely.

Share in the festivities of the Siesta Beach Music & Seafood Festival, an event where you can feast on a variety of seafood cooked fresh on-site. Drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are also available for guests, along with a diverse menu of meat and vegetarian offerings. There is also a big marketplace selling crafts, art, and other products and live musical performances.

Support local sand sculptors at the Classic Sand Sculpting Festival on Siesta Key. Sculptors create various sculptures, including solo sculptures, team sculptures, and one large community carve.
