Lido Key is the closest to Downtown Sarasota, making it an especially convenient place to live if you don't want to reside in the city but still want to live close enough to benefit from Sarasota's many amenities. Lido Key encompasses the elegant St. Armands Circle and provides prospective homeowners with an abundance of housing styles at varying price points, starting at about 1.5 million. 
 
You can just as easily find a luxury high-rise or modern mid-rise as you can a luxurious waterfront estate. Despite the world-class beaches and luxury resorts, Lido Key is less touristy than Siesta Key and strikes a balance between vacation vibes and a normal island town. Pretty much anything you need is within walking distance. Part of the area’s appeal is its sense of intimacy. You’ll often see families celebrating and sometimes the occasional proposal. It’s downtown, but without the crowds you’d expect from downtown.

Columbia Restaurant is a genuine St. Armands Circle fixture that has been family-owned and operated for more than 115 years and earned acclaim for its award-winning Spanish and Cuban cuisine. Enjoy century-old family recipes like paella, the original Cuban sandwich, and fresh seafood specialties.
 
The Lido Beach Resort Tiki Bar is a local favorite and an ideal spot to meet new friends, enjoy tropical cocktails and watch the sunset. Its Gulf-front location makes it an idyllic place to enjoy the scenic vistas while dining on sandwiches, salads, and small plates. Unwind and dine at the Tommy Bahama restaurant in St. Armands Circle, just a few minutes away from Lido Key and Siesta Key. Guests can observe the breathtaking views from the second-story dining room while sipping island-inspired cocktails.

The Clyde Butcher Gallery is one of the most popular, revered for its extensive black and white fine art photography collection. 
 
The Mote Marine Laboratory is a marine research facility and a public aquarium with campuses located in the Florida Keys, Sarasota County, and Boca Grande. The main campus is on the City Island in Sarasota, but the public can visit the aquarium and participate in the education programs. The Mote Aquarium is an excellent way to learn more about the fascinating undersea ecosystem with a dazzling array of different species. The facility hosts sharks, manatees, seahorses, skates, octopuses, sea jellies, and more. Various windows also show guests the working laboratories, and there are interactive exhibits. 
 

Schools

Those who live in Siesta Key attend the schools operated by the Sarasota Public School District, which features acclaimed schools. There are also several exclusive private schools and academies.
